Sport at Shadwell
We aim to inspire all children to be physically active and to understand the long-term benefits to their health.
Alongside a PE curriculum based on the national curriculum, we also offer a range of activities to try to encourage all children to take part and be included in sport. In many case our community partners, such as Leeds Rhinos Rugby League, Foot-Tech Academy and Shadwell Tennis Club support us with this.
Here is a taster of the additional activities we provide:
- KS2 lunchtime sports club twice weekly – no need to sign up, just come along and join in with the different activities provided
- Football teams to take part in our local leagues – enthusiasm is the main requirement to join our team
- Girls tag rugby taster sessions, on site and delivered by Leeds Rhinos
- Tennis coaching after school with the coach from Shadwell Tennis club
- Tennis taster sessions, for all year groups, during the school day with the coach from Shadwell Tennis club
- Opportunities through the year to take part in local leagues and events in a range of sports
- Skateboarding club
We are proud to have been awarded the Dodgeball Sportsmanship award too!
