Dissection Fun
Today, we launched our new SITE topic of lifes cycles. We will start by learning about the life cycle of plants this half term, and next half term, we will go on to learn about the life cycles of different animals.
We kick started our topic by dissecting lillies and learning the names and functions of each part. We discussed how most flowering plants have male and female parts. Everyone loved the practical aspect of our lesson and there was lots of rich discussion between partners trying to identify each part.
Next week, we will go on to learn about how all the parts inside a flower work together (with a little help from insects) to reproduce seeds.
