Spring into maths!

We got straight into maths for the start of Spring term 2. We were working out the volume of cuboids and arrived at a formula to apply to all examples. We're going to be moving on to calculating angles and finding unknown angles in shapes.

We started our writing unit on 'persuasion' - writing a persuasive speech based on our exciting experiences at Carlton Lodge to encourage other children to go there. We have also started our new topic 'Rivers and Mountains', and spent some time identifying rivers we already know and some more well-known ones from around the world.

I was pleased to see so many of the children had completed all of their homework over half-term - great practise for high school! Another busy half-term ahead and I'm sure the children will have lots to tell you about what we are doing.
