What started the decline of the Mayan civilisation?
In history, we have been learning about the Mayan civilisation.
This week, we explored reasons for their slow and steady decline including disease, over farming, warfare and drought. The children took part in lots of speaking and listening activities which ended with them building a persuasive argument to present to the rest of the class. The aim was to try and persuade the others that your chosen theory was the most likely. Children were given 'secret evidence' to help make their argument stronger.
Everyone was confident in their presentation and lots of children managed to use some fantastic expression when delivering their argument.
