Springing back to school...

Following our hugely successful residential to Carlton Lodge, it was back to normal this week starting our new topics. We started off with our new maths focus on geometry, working out perimeters of compound shapes. In English we re-lived our exciting time on residential and started writing persuasive speeches to encourage children to visit Carlton Lodge.

We started our new geography topic 'Rivers and Mountains' and focused on locating the American states the Rockies pass through. We also launched our new SITE project focusing on 'Living Things and Habitats'. We made the most of the balmy weather and identified the living things that live in our school grounds, ready to classify them based on their features.

Seeing as today was St David's day, we did a reading comprehension based on the Welsh tale 'Bedd Gelert', the best part being tucking into the Welsh cakes Miss Prankard had baked for us.
