No Pens Day

As part of No Pens Day (where the children put their pencil cases away and develop their speaking and listening skills) we used resources to prove our place value reasoning questions. Some of them really got the children thinking, changing their minds to agree with their partner and then changing it back again because they had to justify their thinking mathematically. The question about Hamish really got the children thinking; for this question it was really important the children remembered 0 was a digit and held a place value in a number. We got there in the end but were definitely all maths'd out!
