Class 3 were very busy celebrating Chinese New Year on Friday 23rd. The day began with the retelling of the Chinese New Year zodiac story, in which we had some fabulous acting for a reenactment, especially from our poor cat Sonny who did not make it to the finish line on time!

After listening to the story each child choose their favourite character to write a cinquain poem about, the children worked very hard to get the content of the character in, within the strict syllable requirements of this particular type of poem and were very pleased with their finished results. 

During the afternoon we had the chance to sample some lovely Chinese sweets and treats, some of us were more daring than others with the sweet chilli sauce, but most of us were brave and tried everything on offer with the Lucky Candy being a firm favourite for the whole class!
