Last half term we learnt everything there was to know about fractions. We can now add and subtract fractions with different denominators as well as multiply them with whole numbers! To consolidate our knowledge, we created some games in small groups and then showed them off by having a go at playing each others! The children really enjoyed this and it helped them to review all of their learning on fractions. 

We are now learning about decimals and their relationship with fractions. Last week we converted fractions to decimals and visa versa (e.g 0.5 = 1/2 and 2/8 = 2.5). This week we have learnt to add and subtract fractions using a variety of methods (concrete resources, number lines, column addition/subtraction and even mental maths!). Next we will look at percentages and learn how fractions, decimals and percentages all link together!
