Year 4 have spent a few sessions looking at eqquivalen fractions, we struggled with this at first. However, using oreos and other concrete resources such as Numericon and Cuisenare rods we were really able to see the relationships. Class 4 now understand equivalent means the same as or equal to, the numerator is the top number and the denominator is the bottom number. They also know to look for common multiples too! They've worked hard to grasp this, so well done!
