Building shelters and testing materials

Image of Building shelters and testing materials

For No Pens Day the children were challenged to build a shelter for the man on the moon. Using their knowledge of materials, they worked in pairs explaining their ideas to each other before selecting suitable materials and constructing their shelters. Each one had to be freestanding, be big enough for “Bob” to stand in and be robust enough to withstand a blast from a hairdryer. The results were fantastic. Well done Class One - great speaking and listening, super science knowledge and excellent DT skills!
