Fire and Rescue Service

Thank you to Killingbeck Fire and Rescue Service, who came to visit Class 5 today.

We learnt about the fire triangle and how firefighters remove one of the corners in order to put out a fire and the different ways that this can be done.

We watched a very eye opening video about how fast fire can spread and then learnt what to do if there's a fire in our home.

We learnt about fire alarms and how to check them: did you know that this should be done once a week?!

We did some role play to demonstrate the dangers of distraction when driving, including phones, passengers and noise. This is where we learnt the importance of seatbelts, headrests and air bags.

The children were very curious and provided our visitors with lots of inquisitive questions about both fire and rescue services. A big thank you to our visitors who were able to answer each and every one of our questions!
