Tug of War

Image of Tug of War

Today, we kick-started our forces topic by learning about balanced and unbalanced forces.

Did you know that all forces have an opposite force acting against them? When they are balanced, an object will either move at a consistent, steady speed or stay stationary. If the forces are unbalanced, an object will speed up or slow down.

We put our learning in to practice with a game of tug of war. If one team pulls with more force than the other, then the other team falls forwards. If the teams both pull with the same force, then they stay still.

You could also experiment at home using the malteaser experiment that we talked about!
