Today, we finished our space topic by plotting out the relative distance of the planets on our school field.
Did you know that to scale down our solar system to this size, the sun would have to be just 3cm in diameter?
Did you know that the further away from the sun you get, the distance between each planet grows too?
This is because of the gravitational pull on the planets (which we will learn more about in our next SITE topic: forces).
Another reason for this is because our universe is always expanding. This means that our solar system is always growing too!
We watched this video which wowed us by showing us just how vast our universe is.
