Diwali
Today we learnt all about the festival of Diwali.
We started the day by watching a video about a young girl telling us how her family prepared and celebrated Diwali.
The children enjoyed making decorations to put up in the classroom, alongside making rangoli patterns and clay Diva lamps. The Hindu story of Rama and Sita was shared with the class during milk time. It was wonderful to see the children later retelling the story in the puppet show.
At the end of the day we listened to some bhangra music and learnt some Indian dance moves.
