Remembrance Day

Image of Remembrance Day

Today, Class 5 learnt all about Remembrance Day: we started with our 1 minute silence at 11am; then we learnt about why we have Remembrance Day, who we remember and how we remember. The children created fact pages in their English books using what they had learnt and applying their new grammar learning of compound sentences. In the afternoon, we learnt some more about WWI and had another minutes silence whilst reflecting and listening to The Last Post. We then did some Remembrance Day art and listened to some war time music. We also did some guided reading about The Unknown Warrior in Westminster Abbey, which the children found very interesting!

The children were so proud of all of their Remembrance Day work, and we thought it would be lovely to be able to share some with you.
