Character descriptions
In English, we have been learning about descriptive writing, including using expanded noun phrases, ambitious vocabulary and show not tell sentences. Today, the children listened to some character descriptions from our book 'Journey to the River Sea'. They closed their eyes and imagined what was being described before having a go at drawing one of the characters and beginning to plot some key descriptive phrases. At the end of the week, we will write a character description showcasing all that we have learnt so far in Year 5.
