Tropical World Trip

Class 2 had a fantastic time exploring different world habitats at Tropical World. They looked at the differences in animals from rainforest, coral reef, desert and native woodland habitats, choosing some of their favourites to sketch and study along the way. There were lots of interesting facts on display and the children especially enjoyed finding the correct animals to match to the signs they could see!

After a tasty packed lunch the children braved the rain and explored the woodland in Roundhay Park. The park rangers pointed out some of the local wildlife, we saw lots of squirrels and were even lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the kingfisher! The rangers then showed us how to measure the age and height of trees, see if your child can share these with you when you are next out walking in the woods.
