Aboriginal art

Today, we revisited our 'Our World' topic from last half term to finish off our learning about the continent of Australia.

We were SO lucky that one of our class members owns a didgeridoo and was kind enough to bring it in to show us all. After a demonstration, everyone had a go at trying to play the didgeridoo and soon realised that it was not an easy feat! He also brought in some original aboriginal art painted on recyclable paper and an authentic boomerang from Australia too.

Using inspiration from the didgeridoo, art, boomerang and also what we have previously learnt about the indigenous people of Australia, we sketched some art work of our own. We used sticks, cotton buds and dowel to create a 'dot' effect and mixed primary colours to get a make a range of other colours.
