MAYAN DAY
The children had a fantastic day on Wednesday when we fully immersed ourselves in the lives of the Maya through drama, speaking and listening.
We were joined by the year 5 class from Bramham for the day and the children were put in to mixed groups. By the end of the day, the children had made some great friends and spent all day long grinning and having fun together!
They took part in a range of different drama games and freeze frames and the children proved to be quite the theatrical bunch when presenting their 'Great Mayan Bakeoff' as they learnt about how the Mayans created chocolate.
The children also hd an opportunity to explore the start of the Maya decline through debate. All the children felt confident enough to present their argument in front of everyone which is something we should all be proud of!
