Welcome to Class 1
We have had a very busy first day in Year 1. The postman delivered lots of fantastic postcards from the children's holidays and we shared these, together with those brought into school today. The children loved talking about what they had been doing this summer and they all completed their first piece of Year 1 writing, sharing their news. They also spent some time exploring their new classroom - the dinosaur reading den and the Post Office area were very popular!
The postman also delivered another very exciting letter today. During the World Cup the children sent letters to the England Football Team and today we received a reply from Gareth Southgate. He thanked the children for their wonderful letters and pictures and promised to display some of them at the England training centre. We were all thrilled.
Now we are all looking forward to learning about lots of new topics in Year 1.
