Class 3 trip to Leeds Museum

On Wednesday 6th June, Class 3 from Shadwell joined with their Bramham friends in Class 3 and travelled to Leeds City Museum to take part in an Ancient Egyptian workshop. The children went to saw a real Egyptian mummy named Nesyamun and completed a task to find the missing items from his tomb. Then, they got the chance to mummify their own doll, washing the body, pulling out all of the organs and placing them in canopic jars before wrapping the doll in bandages. Next they all made an amulet, which were used as good luck charm in Ancient Egypt.

The children enjoyed exploring the other areas of the museum when not in the workshop, finding out how Leeds was formed and how it has changed over the years.

We had a super day and the children showed excellent behaviour all day, well dlone Class 3!
