Debate Competition
Following our debating topic in January, we were provided with the opportunity to go to a debating competition!
Once we were told that we would be proposing the motion 'mobile phones should be allowed in schools', we quickly began to research some evidence for our argument at debate club.
Our debate team has worked incredibly hard to research, construct and practise an incredibly strong argument over the last couple of months. They even remained patient when the competition was rescheduled due to snow days... TWICE!
When the debate finally came around, the team were nervous yet confident and managed to project their voices fantastically, delivering their argument with great expression and using emphasis where needed to be as persuasive as possible.
Having watched the debate myself, I was SO proud of how far the team have come and the children were even more proud of themselves after finding out that they had one their heat!
Well done to our three team members but also to debate club for helping to construct our argument and to the whole class for providing lots of support on the day!
