Class 5 update!

Image of Class 5 update!

This half term, we have been working really hard on our topic of 'Our World'. We have learnt about lines of latitude, longitude and all about different countries and cities around the world! We've found particular interests in: Guam, United Arab Emirates, China, Brazil, Australia, Russia and India. Because we were so interested, we have decided to research them in computing too and are beginning to create group powerpoints... I can't wait until presentation day!

We have also done some art work linked to our topic. We've been learning about Wallis and Turner who were both inspired by beaches and seaside towns around the world. We have imitated some of their work using oil crayons and water colours.

Take a look at some of our art work here:

Lastly, I am so very impressed with our effort with times tables and KIRFs this half term! So that we can continue to improve, here's a few useful websites to help practice at home:

https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button

HIT THE BUTTON is a game for both times tables and KIRFs which makes practicing a little bit more fun!

Timestables.me is a great website for generating practice times tables tests, you can select the times tables you want to practice, how many questions you want and whether you want to include division or multiplication or both. It generates random questions so that you'll always be practicing them in a different order! The children have access to these at school too so can always bring these home to practice.

Well done to everyone in Class 5 for settling in so well and having a fantastic first half term, keep up the hard work!
