We are really enjoying our first RE topic, 'How do Christians and Muslims celebrate new life? Today was very exciting as we got to visit Reverend Young in St. Paul's church, who told us all about Christian baptism.

We took a lovely doll as our baby. In class, we chose a Mummy Daddy, Godparents and Grandparents for the baby. We discussed how the name of a new baby may be chosen, and looked at names which appear in the bible. We decided to name the baby 'Isabelle' after we learnt that this name means 'devoted to God'.

We walked across to the church and Reverend Young baptised baby Isabelle. We got to see the font and the special candle. We really enjoyed the party back at school afterwards!
