In their last game before the half term the boys travelled to St Theresa’s in the league in what they knew would probably be their toughest game yet. Those thoughts were definitely realised earlier on as St Theresa’s, who definitely had the physically bigger and stronger team were able to go toe-to-toe with our boys. In a close first half, chances were few and far between as the majority of the ball was played in the middle of the pitch, with committed defending from both teams. The second half continued much of the same, although chances were increasing as the game wore on. The breakthrough came when a through ball set Tom in the clear and his low shot was able to find its way into the back of the net. Shadwell were able to get another goal on the break towards the end of the game when Tom’s great run and shot made it 2-0. It was the boys’ best performance of the season so far, and they needed to be at their best to beat a very good St Theresa’s team, using all their energy and commitment to grab the win!
