Y5/6 Boys’ Football match away vs Allerton (19/9/17) – Won 3-0

19 September 2017

As they looked to prepare for the league season beginning, the boys’ football team travelled to Allerton for a friendly game. The game got off to a bit of a nervy start with Allerton having two early chances, including one which hit the post.

As the team got more settled, we began to create some chances of our own, and we eventually made the breakthrough when a great corner from Fin was turned in at the near post by Alfie. The second half saw some more Shadwell chances and we were able to add a second when a breakaway saw a shot from James go in at the near post. As the game drew to a close, some brilliant footwork from Oli D saw him go round a couple of defenders before slotting the ball passed the keeper.

A really solid performance from the team, which had 9 players making their debut for school. We travel to Grimes Dyke next week for the first league game and will hopefully benefit from this good run out.
