Girls Tag Rugby City Finals at Stanningley ARLFC

29 June 2017

Having qualified as one of the top five girls’ teams in the city, Shadwell travelled to Stanningley ARLFC to compete in the Tag Rugby City Finals. The girls had set high expectations for themselves from the qualifiers and were quietly confident in their abilities as a team.

Results were as follows:

Won 5-0 vs St Augustine’s Primary School

Won 6-0 vs Immaculate Heart Primary School (B)

Won 5-0 vs St Bartholomew’s Primary School

Drew 1-1 vs Immaculate Heart Primary School (A)

Having achieved these results it meant Shadwell had won the City Finals, for the third year in a row! A brilliant achievement for an amazing team! We were pushed all the way in the final game, losing with three minutes to go, but a great equaliser from Joanna sealed the championship! Not only that, but the team haven’t lost a competitive game for three years! Well done girls, you really deserve to enjoy all your success!
