Y5/6 Boys Football away at Allerton C of E Primary School – Won 3-1

28 April 2017

In their final league game of the season, the boys’ team travelled to Allerton, really needing a win if they were to still be in with a chance of topping the league table at the final whistle. We got off to a good start attacking-wise when Oli D showed great footwork to dribble to ball passed the opposing defender and goalkeeper to tap home. You could tell the boys were a little nervous out there, and we took a while to settle defensively, an Allerton corner went straight through everyone into the near post to equalise.

The second half the team relaxed a lot more and were able to take the lead when Joe shot from close range. Oli added a third as the half went on and from that point the result was pretty much sealed. The boys were delighted to have gotten the win in what was a great end to the season.

What’s more, we found out early the following week that our win had been enough to seal the league championship! A fantastic return for a team that had played above themselves all season – well done boys!
