Y5/6 Girls Football at home vs Bramham Primary School Drew 1-1 & Won 2-1

27 April 2017

In the final league games before the fixture deadline saw the girls team host Bramham Primary for their two fixtures.

The first game saw lots of early Bramham pressure, needing a couple of great saves from Gracie to keep the score level. The deadlock was broken when a strong Bramham move through the middle saw the ball poked past Gracie into the Shadwell net. Defeat in the first game looked on the cards until Emily’s corner was flicked on at the near post and Lois was left to tap the ball in to make the score 1-1.

The second game saw Shadwell have more of the ball, but chances were still few and far between thanks to some great defending from both teams and some wonderful goalkeeping by Ella in the Bramham goal. The result was sealed when the ball fell to Connie on the edge of the Bramham penalty area, hitting a great strike into the goal.

Both teams played fantastic football and gave it everything they had; it made for great entertainment and they should be really proud of how far they’ve come! The results meant that Shadwell girls’ team finished in the top four and will go into the finals playoffs to compete to be the best team in Leeds! Well done girls!
