Y5/6 Boys Football away vs Carr Manor Primary School – Won 4-0

25 April 2017

With the league deadline approaching on Friday the boys’ team knew they really needed to win both fixtures and hope other results went their way in order to win the league. The players’ approach was to focus on what they could do and take it one game at a time, just like they had been all season.

The team got off to a great start, scoring four goals, from Alfie, Sam and Oli D (2), in the first 10 minutes. After such a fantastic start it was the boys’ ambition to maintain the lead; which they managed – the score at halftime remained 4-0 to Shadwell.

The second half saw the ball kept more in the middle of the pitch, in large part to three hailstorms during the course of the match, making plying any level of decent football difficult. The final score finished 4-0, and the boys got the result they wanted, putting pressure on other teams around the top of the table.
