Y5/6 Boys Football vs Immaculate Heart – Lost 2-0

14 March 2017

The team went into this game hoping for a positive result in what was a big match in terms of league places. Having beaten Immaculate Heart earlier in the season the team knew they could do it; but Immaculate Heart are one of the best teams in Leeds, and they showed it tonight. The first half was an even affair with chances for both sides, but the ball was mainly found in the midfield battle.

Immaculate Heart had the wind behind them in the second half, and used it to their advantage camping in the Shadwell half for the majority of the rest of the game. Their pressure finally paid off when their striker finished from close range to make it 1-0. The boys kept fighting but the result was put out of reach when a long range free kick evaded everybody and found its way into the back of the net.

The boys were obviously disappointed with the result, but were able to move on quickly to focus on future games.
